Expertise matters at WGPT!

DID YOU KNOW? We have 2 therapists with their OCS (Orthopedic Clinical Specialist) certification: Dr. Courtney Kurelja Dedda, and Dr. Margaret Fitzpatrick
There are only 7% of therapists in the country with this distinction!

Also, 3 of our therapists have their McKenzie Certification for mechanical diagnosis and treatment of spine and extremities: Dr. Dana Winkler, Dr. Margaret Fitzpatrick, and Julie Sergio. The McKenzie method is an internationally recognized and researched based treatment.

Approximately 9,500 deaths of older Americans are associated with falls each year! Falls are the leading cause of death from injury among people 65 and older, and the risk of falls increases proportionately with age. Need some recommendations to combat this scary statistic? Read below!

3. Avoid using sedating medication

4. Remove throw rugs/clutter on the floors

5. Use night lights in dark rooms

September is National Yoga Awareness Month! Yoga has a strong reputation for promoting well-being in both body and mind. Relaxation techniques in yoga can lessen chronic pain, lower blood pressure and increase flexibility. However, as with any exercise routine, ease into it and listen to your body!

A Physical Therapist can help to educate you on the best ways to protect your body from injury while enjoying the poses.
