Bio

Ariel, a Philadelphia native, graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a BA in psychology and criminology in 2017. After traveling the winding road of searching for meaning in a career, she landed upon physical therapy which rapidly became her passion. She graduated from Arcadia University with a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree with distinction in 2024. During her time at Arcadia, she served as president of the student PT association, worked as an anatomy teaching assistant, and participated in biomechanics research with faculty and PhD students. After completing her final clinical rotation at WGPT, she is excited to be an official part of the team! She remains involved at her alma mater as an Adjunct Professor in Arcadia’s DPT program. In her free time, Ariel enjoys traveling, hiking, and spending time with her bird, Danny, and cat, Finn.

From my husband who has gone there for 3 months_ Gary Breen writes:I had two operations on my shoulder in a six month period. One in March and the other in September. The first one was a shoulder replacement and the second was to remove a buildup of scar tissue. I was told by the surgeon that I had to start physical therapy the very next day after the second surgery. After my first surgery I was going to a different PT place. I stopped going there because the surgeon told me that there is no reason to go to PT until the arthroscopic surgery was done. After that surgery I tried to make an appointment to continue with them but they could not accommodate me. The surgeon was quite adamant about starting PT the next day.I had to find another place.My wife previously was a patient at Glenside. She said that she liked the trainer who worked with her on her hip. She said that his name is Kyle and previously in the past was a cheerleader for the Philadelphia Eagles.When I called to make an appointment the individual to whom I spoke was very friendly. He said that there would be no problem starting and was assigned a therapist by the name of Kelly. For the most part Kelly worked with me. However, there were times that other therapists worked on my shoulder. All of them were friendly, caring and well-schooled. With all their help I progressed very quickly.I highly recommend Glenside Physical Therapy. I really landed on my feet when I chose them.

I arrived distressed at Hatboro-Willow Grove Physical Therapy in the first quarter of 2024. I was struggling both mentally and physically, barely able to walk or stand. My neurosurgeon had recommended physical therapy, explaining that my issues stemmed from a pinched nerve in my lower back.Upon arrival, I was paired with a physical therapist named Jenn Freeman, PT, DPT. Jenn was kind and thorough during her initial evaluation. After our hour-long session, she reassured me, saying, “Don’t worry, Brad, we will get to the bottom of this.”Having gone through years of physical therapy after a serious accident two decades earlier—where I learned how to walk again and manage my chronic pain—I was naturally skeptical that Jenn could get me back on track, especially after experiencing so many physical therapists over the years. At that point, I could barely walk or stand, and I had spent the past two years seeing various specialists, each providing different opinions on my physical condition. I could also see in Jenn’s eyes during my initial consultation and evaluation that I was not in good shape, but she sounded determined to help me, which gave me some hope.To shorten the story, after about three weeks of physical therapy with Jenn Freeman, PT, DPT, she asked me, “Brad, have you ever had X-rays of your hips and knees?” I looked at Jenn in disbelief, thinking, “Why would you ask me this? I’m here for a pinched nerve in my lower back, as my neurosurgeon said, and you’re not a neurosurgeon.” The thought crossed my mind: why are you asking me about my knees and hips?I replied, “No, I haven't had X-rays on my knees or hips, Jenn!” She responded, “Do me a favor, Brad, and ask your primary care physician for a prescription to get this done.”Taking Jenn’s advice, I figured I had nothing to lose, and to my surprise, the X-rays revealed that my right hip and both knees were bone on bone. I couldn't believe it! A physical therapist had just uncovered an issue that my neurosurgeon and at least a half dozen other specialists had overlooked, despite their years of experience.Following this revelation, I consulted with David Craft at the Rothman Institute, a highly regarded surgeon, and underwent knee and hip replacements. Now, I am back to being fully functional after enduring years of intense pain and struggling to walk. If it weren't for Jenn Freeman, PT, DPT, at Hatboro-Willow Grove Physical Therapy, my life would still be a daily battle.I am now almost fully recovered, moving around well, and I am “HAPPY.” 😁 I want to give Jenn Freeman, PT, DPT, a big shout-out: thank you, Jenn, for saving my life. I went to the Hatboro facility of WG PT. My therapist was Jackie.Jackie exhibited effectiveness in addressing my needs. We worked on improving my balance. Her original assessment both eliminated possible problems as well as pinpointed areas that need improvement.We (me, not really her) did a variety of exercises to improve my balance. After 4 weeks I made progress. Assuming I continue with her recommendations, I should continue to improve.

There are so many things I can say. As a single mother, I was worried about having to bring my daughter with me; however, the staff was so kind about her tagging along. Matt was great to work with, and would create these little challenges for her. Even on the occasions when I worked with Jen, she would include her when she could. Overall, the staff was very knowledgeable and fun to work with. I was given exercises to complete at home, and was sent home with bands to ensure I had the means to do them. At the end of the day, I am extremely happy that I chose this group and, if the need should arise in the future, I would choose them again.

Other places I have been are not as attentive or patient-focused. This place focuses on patient needs and recovery. Willow Grove Physical Therapy is a clean, bright, and welcoming facility. All the staff are friendly, skillful and patient! For the first month, my therapist, Val, directed me in exercises for balance, and for muscle strengthening and stretching to relieve the pain in my knee. Each week she noted my progress and endurance. During the second month, Val encouraged me to work harder, to overcome my fear of pain, in order to reach my goal of returning to yoga practice. I am back on the mat, thanks to Val's guidance and encouragement.
